Litspiration Challenge

For my lispiration challenge I chose to do a sketch of a character. The character I drew was Simon Glass, from the novel "Shattering Glass". In the story Simon is a nerd at the beginning of the story. Many people picked on him and he didn't have any friends. The reason why I decided to draw Simon is   that when I was reading "Shattering Glass" by Gail Giles I was always trying to imagine him through out the story every time he was moving up in popularity. The story gave lots of clues on what Simon looked like which really made my sketch more accurate. For example it said,  "He had a plastic pocket protector, no joke, crammed with about a dozen pens and a calculator."

  1. I liked that you included a direct quotation to support your drawing. I would have liked to have seen more of those, and maybe even considering of other aspects of characterization as well! Great blog!

  2. I think you did a really good job explaining and showing us how simon looks I think this helps paint a picture of what was going on in this book. I think you could have added colour and maybe even a background because that would take it to the next level. You did a good job making him look nerdy and out of place this just shows how much you were into the book GOOD JOB :)

  3. i agree with everyone, I think you could of maybe coloured and added in different angles but thats my opinion, the thing i like about it a lot is the detail in the drawing, and the paragraph you used.

    good job :)

  4. Its one book at a time, theres no need to rush, its like learning to fly, or falling in love, its going to happen when, suppose to happen when, you find a reason why, one page at a time,

  5. I really think that everyone above covered just about everything, I agree with Matt though you should of added color, or just scenery around him. I think that it would have just pushed this drawing to the limit. I also like how you actually wrote out a descriptive paragraph about your drawing, I think that it really enhanced this overall. Great job!
